Once you create the video and post to social media, a small panel of Oregon School Boards Association employees or their designees will determine winners based on certain criteria, including:
- Originality and emotional appeal – the work expresses genuine thoughts and feelings toward another who is deserving of thanks for keeping the student on track to graduate
- Overall production value (video/audio quality)
- Two (2) minutes of less in length
- Student eligibility*
The video contest will run for six weeks beginning April 15, 2018. The best video of each week will be featured on The Promise of Oregon’s social media pages and will qualify for the grand prize. For example, the winner of Week 1 will be selected from videos posted before 11:59 p.m., April 21, 2018. The following weeks’ winners will be judged on those entries received by 11:59 p.m. Saturday, with Week 6 closing on May 26, 2018. The grand prize winner will be selected from among those top six videos.
- Week 1: April 15-21, 2018
- Week 2: April 22-28, 2018
- Week 3: April 29-May 5, 2018
- Week 4: May 6-12, 2018
- Week 5: May 13-19, 2018
